Baby Botox® is not what the name suggests: a treatment with botulinum toxin for very young people, though it has been getting more popular and common among young women in their 20's and 30's.
Baby Botox® is a technique which can achieve great results with a natural feel. Gone are the days of the frozen or the surprised look and the recent trend has definitely moved towards the more natural look. Baby Botox® was first coined in the USA, and it was in part because of Martin Scorsese the movie director, who complained that too many of his actresses were "frozen" and unable to act. Many of these actresses started seeking botulinum toxin treatments which are effective, more natural and wear off more quickly in time for their next part on the big screen. The baby Botox® treatments involve tiny doses of botulinum toxin which are injected into the usual areas. The results are still very similar to when normal doses are given, but more movement is present and it does wear off more quickly. After baby Botox® you may have to return for the next treatment after 2 months but in time however the results will last longer. Baby botox® can be used for those who want to be more natural and not have results lasting up to 5 months. Ask your expert injector about the possibilities. Good research, advice from a qualified specialist and being psychological prepared is essential to deal with the changes that will happen to your face.
In the search of eternal beauty and the fountain of youth, many men and women decide to receive their first Botulinum Toxin / Botox® injection in order to diminish fine lines and wrinkles; although this is an individual decision; specialists can guide you through this process and provide you with all the information you need before making a final decision. Botulinum Toxin / Botox® before 30 It is common to see many people in their mid 20s with frown marks and lines around the eyes; this is normally produced by strong facial expression and sensitive or dry skin. Specialists usually don't recommend a person in their mid to late 20s to go through this process; however, Botulinum Toxin / Botox® could be used as a preventive measure and the “relaxing effect” will teach them how facial expression create premature lines. There's little research to support that strategy, but some maintain that preventing movement in an area will cause fewer wrinkles. It is important to distinguish between fine lines and premature wrinkles; remember than even babies have them when gesturing; therefore, it should only be considered when it is caused by “excessive muscle contraction”. Excessive muscle contraction or mimicry creates crow’s feet, furrows in the forehead and frown that makes even young people look years older; while sagging skin is due to the normal and irreversible passing of the time. How young is too young? The American Society of Plastic Surgeons doesn't recommend cosmetic procedures for anyone below the age of 18, except for rhinoplasty, breast reduction and treatment of congenital deformities. The Summary of Product Characteristics of BOTOX® says minimum age for cosmetic purpose is 18 years. 40 isn’t the new 30, the new 40 is 30 Nowadays, people are exercising more to build the perfect body ; they are also eating healthy to look younger and many treatments are now available to reduce hair loss; all these tricks are ideal to improve your appearance, well-being and the way you look but will you really look 10 years younger than your real age? The likely answer is yes! The effects of Botulinum Toxin / Botox® will become visible after a few days. If you have a strong desire to look young by using Botulinum Toxin / Botox®, then the perfect age to start is between 35 and 40; this is when our collagen levels and elasticity hit rock bottom and extra help is needed to maintain our good looks. Until it happens. Your temperature rises, blood gushes into your face and your cheeks, and suddenly the whole world knows your story because you are blushing uncontrollably. You feel embarrassed, wishing there was some way to stop excessive facial flushing.
Excessive blushing robs you of precious confidence, turning your face into a Las Vegas-style neon billboard. There are ways to stop blushing like operations and surgery, but they are expensive and dangerous. I’m happy to tell you there are natural ways to cure yourself of this embarrassing problem. In this article are a few tips to stop facial blushing. THE MOST COMMON DIAGNOSIS OF FLUSHING First, you need to diagnose yourself. When does your blushing occur? Does it happen in response to a heightened anxiety in social situations where you are afraid of blushing? If so, then you likely suffer from erythrophobia, which is a complicated way of saying you have a clinical fear of facial blushing. People so afflicted blush when they consciously fear having their facial blushing emerge. This is the most prevalent source of blushing. 1. BOTOX ® Botulinum Toxins Type A have shown significant improvement of facial blushing or flushing even when resistanty to multiple pulsed dye laser treatments. The posttreatment appearance was dramatic, and the patient was highly satisfied with the cosmetic outcome. Botulinum toxin A can be used in small quantities to decrease persistent facial flushing temporarily: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14692937 While Botulinum Toxins Type B seem not to give any improvement: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21848448 Read more: Botulinum Toxins: The most powerful neurotoxin ever discovered 2. EXERCISE REGULARLY Blushing, biologically, is really a simple matter of blood flow being poorly regulated in your body. Though erythrophobia is a psychological disorder, regular physical exercise can do a lot to alleviate the condition by regulating your blood flow appropriately, by reducing your overall stress level and by expending unused energy, all of which contribute to facial blushing. 3. AVOID CAFFEINE Even though erythrophobia is product of your anxieties, treating its physical manifestations is among the easiest and most natural methods of treatment. Caffeine effects how the heart delivers blood to the rest of the body, and it can cause many of the capillaries in your face to constrict and relax involuntarily, essentially drawing blood into your cheeks. If you have a problem with redness and excessive blushing, try to avoid caffeine and nicotine products as best as you can. 4. HYPNOSIS Trained professional can help you to relax and find a way for you to merge your mind and body, allowing you greater control of some of your anxieties and involuntary bodily processes. Hypnosis can stop blushing by teaching you how to train your mind and your body to work as an entwined pair through subconscious processes. Over time, and with effort, you will notice that the redness and blushing will reduce almost completely. 5. SURGERY Surgical intervention is probably the last option unless it is extremely needed. A procedure called Endoscopic Thoracic Sympahtectomy (ETS) involves manipulation of the sympathetic nerves to reduce factors that can trigger too much blushing reaction of the body. The nerves are either burned, removed or clamped to disrupt transmission of blushing reflexes. A condition that usually accompanies extreme blushing is hyperhydrosis or excessive sweating. This can also be controlled through the ETS surgical procedure. 6. MEDICATION Consult your doctor for medications options. Medications can be used to block factors that can initiate excessive blushing. Beta blockers and SSRIs are some of the drugs for this kind of problem. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) are helpful for an extreme blusher caught in situations like public speaking or other humiliating circumstances that can also lead to depression. However, no drug should be taken without the order of a doctor. 7. DIET Eat a balanced diet. You may have read this countless of times but having a balanced diet is the ideal meal for any condition. Blushing reflexes can be controlled by eating salmon and drinking at least eight glasses of water per day. That kind of diet is good at maintaining hormonal balance. Along with eating a proper diet is staying fit through exercise. It is a healthy way to cope with stressful and embarrassing situations. 8. NLP Practice relaxation techniques. Relaxation techniques help in calming the nerves as well as reducing the underlying stressors that might result in blushing. Blushing reflexes can be controlled through NLP or neuro-linguistic programming. This type of treatment is believed to help train the brain and body to react in a way that does not trigger the blushing reflexes. Excessive flushing may also be controlled through other forms of recreation such as massage and acupuncture. 9. CREAM Apply cream on face. Cream for hemorrhoids is used to minimize redness due to uncontrollable blushing. Hemorrhoid is a condition where blood is pulled excessively in one area due to pressure. So that same cooling ointment used in hemorrhoid is a great match for redness caused by excessive blushing. It dampens the area and quickly reduces flushing. The Leading Injectable Centers of the World® Quality in Beauty The liquid eyelift is a rejuvenating and minimally invasive procedure that is an alternative to blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery for many patients using a combination of facial fillers and if necessary botulinum toxin. A dermal filler is injected deep around the orbital bone to lift the tissue while a “thinner” facial filler, is injected just under the fine lines of the lid to strengthen the skin to give it more structure and lift. The result is a softer contour to the brow, a lifted upper lid, and a much more youthful appearance.
Pro’s: - non invasive procedure with no downtime - almost immediate results - less expensive than surgery - completely reversible (when only HA fillers are used) if not satisfied Con’s: - results are temporary (approximately 6 month – 1 year depending on which fillers are used) while the results of a blepharoplasty are lasting. Sometimes only a blepharoplasty can give better or the desired results. Ask your experienced and skilled injector about your individual & tailor made possibilities. An alarming fact is that currently botulinum toxins and facial fillers are offered via the internet, sometimes with very attractive discounts. There are even do-it-yourselve kits available. If you are considering getting botulinum toxin injections or facial filler treatments always seek a skilled, trained and trusted injector, don't do it yourself and never order your own injectables: fillers or botulinum toxins. Your injector can provide you with safe, tested, approved, regulated, proper transported and stored products. Since there are many different products on the market it is very important that your injector has experience with the specific products he or she is injecting and therefor never a great idea to bring your own. What you need to know about ordering product online: 1. Does to syringe or vial contain the promised product? There are many fake and dangerous products available via internet, sometimes even using trusted brand names confusing customers. Only approved products supplied by manufacturers or official distributers themselves should be trusted. Warning signs of counterfeit or illegal product include: ª Misspelled brand names, unknown or unfamiliar names, and catchy marketing names like “Freeze” ª Generic packaging that does not include serial and lot numbers for injectables that correspond to serial and lot number on actual vials and syringes ª Foreign language writing on packaging, a lack of trademarks and identifying holograms ª Logos and type and packaging that are inconsistent with those of approved injectables Logos, packaging, brand names and other identifiers for genuine, approved product are all available, at-a-glance, at www.injectablesafety.org. In addition, the complete list of legal distributors for all currently FDA approved brands is also available at www.injectablesafety.org. 2. Did the supplier / transportation meet the required storage conditions of the product? Some products, for example Botox have guidelines for storage and transportation in order to prevent denaturation and maintain maximum efficacy. Only approved products transported by manufacturers or official distributers themselves should be trusted. 3. Importation of Cosmetic Injectables can be a felony One year in prison and up to $100,000 in fines; it’s a potential steep penalty to pay for importing cosmetic injectables. As recently as August 2009, five physicians, one nurse and a practice manager all from the same New York medical practice pled guilty to charges stemming from the purchase of non-FDA approved cosmetic injectables from on-line pharmacies. Each faces monetary penalties and jail time. Since 2004 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Office of Criminal Investigations (OCI) entered into more than 210 investigations that led to arrests and convictions. “Physicians fax machines and email accounts are filled with offers to buy off-shore, or unbranded cheaper injectables,” said coalition leader Mark L. Jewell, MD of Eugene, OR. “Buying from such sources is not a naïve or innocuous act simply for cost savings on the product. It’s a dangerous act that can cause unexpected adverse events, and ultimately land the physician in prison.” “Genuine approved cosmetic injectables have a safe and predictable record of outcomes. There is simply no excuse to cut corners, import or buy cheaper unbranded and illegal substances,” said coalition leader Robert Weiss, MD of Baltimore. “Illegal injectables can be readily distinguished from the real thing (see listing of tips below),” said coalition leader Ira Papel, MD of Baltimore. “The Coalition urges anyone, physician or consumer, who suspects the criminal act of soliciting non-approved, off-shore, counterfeit or illicit injectables in the U.S. to anonymously report the suspected crime to the FDA.” Information on reporting a suspected crime to the FDA can be found at http://www.fda.gov/consumer/updates/oci072307.html About The Physicians Coalition The Physicians Coalition for Injectable Safety is an alliance of specialty physician organizations including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Federation of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. After injected Botulinum Toxins inhibit signals from the nerves and relax the muscles.
Botulinum Toxins seem to affect also other muscles other than the ones it's injected into, according to an investigation published in the Jan. 2011 issue of Anesthesia and Analgesia. The study, led by Christiane G. Frick, MD, of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, found that rats injected with Botulinum Toxin displayed lasting effects on muscles after injection and not only restricted to the injected area. Botulinum Toxin also appeared to change the way muscles responded to a commonly used muscle relaxant, potentially affecting monitoring patients during mechanical ventilation or surgery. In case you had Botulinum Toxin injections for cosmetic or other purposes, please notify your anesthesiologist before surgery. Note: These findings are based on only one study. Botulinum Toxins are still considered to be a very safe and effective non invasive wrinkle treatment supported by many studies regarding safety and efficacy & extensive experience. The draft prEN 16372 is available. Until March 31, 2012, the draft standard may be interested to see and comment on it.
European standard for cosmetic surgery services The market for aesthetic surgery is a growing commercial market. Consumers are increasingly looking across borders for a suitable treatment at private clinics. Different professions and specialties are involved in these treatments. It is therefore important that all stakeholders participate in the standardization process to work to good agreements. The purpose of the standard is to establish agreements on the quality, safety and reliability of services offered by private clinics. The agreements include other levels of training of personnel, facilities and equipment, quality and patient contact. There are also agreements about ethics in relation to, inter alia conduct and marketing. The European standard will not be able to harmonize existing national legislation, but complement it with a need and no standards or legislation. Preliminary In 2010 at the European level started to develop a European standard in the field of aesthetic surgery service around. Netherlands is the beginning and at the table has a national committee set up mirror. In this mirror committee to interested parties together in order to find a widely accepted standard to come. Draft standard view and comment On 30 December, the European standardization organization (CEN) published the draft standard prEN 16372 http://esearch.cen.eu/esearch/ Netherlands www.normontwerpen.nen.nl After registration you can easily see the draft standard and provide commentary on the text. All contributions will be collated and discussed with the parties who have made substantive comments. Once you have submitted your contribution, you will receive an invitation to a meeting where all submitted comments are discussed. This takes place probably in April 2012. The result is a Dutch joint comments filed with the European standards committee. will not be part of the next cosmetic surgery scandal like unfortunately currently ongoing with the PIP implants. Botulinum Toxins are prescription only, meaning they are subjected to extensive health and safety checks before being allowed on the market as they are with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in America and EMEA in Europe EMEA. Breast implants are seen as medical devices and therefore (unfortunately) not subjected to the same rules and regulations. Since its FDA-approval for multiple neurological uses in 1989, Botox® has been used millions of times. Widely tested over two decades, Botox® has an excellent safety record.
